About the course:
This workshop introduces you to the extended capabilities for the optimization of the gravity sand casting/high pressure die casting/die casting/low pressure die casting processes (depending on which class you attended). It is meant to help you integrate the use of the optimization features into your daily work with MAGMASOFT®. You will learn how to work with virtual design of experiments and optimization and also the underlying methodology.

This workshop will cover the basic theoretical knowledge needed to set up and evaluate stress and heat treatment simulations. Both will also be exercised using MAGMASOFT®. Additionally, the simulation result export via the MAGMAlink module will be practiced. The workshop pace will be adapted to the participants' skill level.

About the course:
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of how to use inverse optimization and you will practice using user-specific results ('User Results') to simulate and optimize with MAGMASOFT®. By using inverse optimization, you will calculate how to better adjust the boundary conditions of the simulation model to the actual process conditions based on measurements obtained in the foundry. This allows you to better adapt the simulation results to the actual process.
